The official Mascots for this year Olympics and Paralympics are Wenlock and Mandeville respectively. A creative agency named Iris has made and designed the mascots of 2012 Olympics. Wenlock (Orange) and Mandeville (Blue) are made from the last 2 drops of steel that is used for building the London Olympic stadium. Wenlock name is derived from a town, Much Wenlock in Shropshire while Mandeville derived from a hospital, Stoke Mandeville. Both Mascots have various features that represent the elements of the Paralympics and Olympics.

Wenlock and Mandeville: Official 2012 Olympics Mascots
London 2012 Olympics is almost approaching and after that also Paralympics 2012 will on its way. Preparations for both the major sports events are being completed quickly. Recently, the official mascots of both these events were unveiled. These have been named Wenlock and Mandeville. Wenlock is the official mascot for the London 2012 Olympics and Mandeville is the mascot of Paralympics 2012. Both these characters are cartoon animations.

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) had introduced the official mascots for the 2012 Summer Olympics, named ‘Wenlock’ and ‘Mandeville’ in the year 2010. Both Wenlock and Mandeville are one-eyed characters and they were created from the last 2 drops of steel that was used in the construction of the final support beam for the 2012 Olympics stadium.
